Joy Performance Center
The Joy Theatre opened June 1, 1949 in the heart of Kings Mountain. It is currently home to the Kings Mountain Little Theatre and is now known as the Joy Performance Center. It also hosts an annual film festival. The exterior has a great vintage style vertical sign. Each summer for several weekends in June and July, the Joy Theatre transforms and becomes the setting for a powerful war drama of the battle that changed the course of the American Revolution, the Battle of Kings Mountain. Liberty Mountain: A Revolutionary Drama depicts this event in an immersive and engaging way.
